The New York Mets have released Belgian outfielder Thomas De Wolf. He was one of 13 minor leaguers, which were shown the door this week according to Baseball America. The 22-year-old was spent three seasons with the Mets organization, playing in the Dominican Summer League in 2009/2010 and in the Gulf Coast League in 2011. With short season ball about to start in the United States he didn’t make the cut for another year of professional baseball. In 127 games he batted .244/.409/.333 with three homeruns, five triples, 15 doubles, 65 runs and 43 RBI. He already returned to Belgium.
