World Cup: Team Italy with new Manager
Marco MAZZIERI is the new manager of Team Italy. He succeeds Giampiero FARAONE, who led the baseball team to a disappointing seventh place in the European championships in Barcelona at the beginning of September. MAZZIERI, a former outfielder and manager of Grosseto, guided the Italian junior national team to the European title in July 2007. He will be joined at the World Cup in Taipei by pitching coach Bill HOLMBERG along with coaches Gilberto GERALI and Alberto D’AURIA.
