World Cup: Chinese team withdraws from tournament - replaced by Thailand
One month before the World Cup of baseball in Taipei, the Chinese team withdraw itself from the tournament. The IBAF chose Thailand as the replacement. They had missed the qualification to the World Cup in 2006, when they finished fifth at the Asian games behind Chinese Taipei, Japan, South Korea and China.
Thailand will make their debut on the international stage. They are in group B with Cuba, Venezuela, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Australia and Korea.
