About two weeks before the start of the 2009 World Baseball Classic, the nice Blog ‘My World of Baseball’ ranked the top ten European prospects, which are currently playing in the American Major and Minor Leagues. Outfielder Greg Halman of the Seattle Mariners is number one, followed by pitchers Shairon Martis (WAS) and Juan Carlos Sulbaran (CIN). The Italian reliever Alex Maestri (CHC) and the German catcher Kai Gronauer (NYM) are the only players on the list, who are not eligible to play for the Netherlands.
