In the German Softball-Bundesliga the best-of-five finals are tied after the first two games. In game one reigning champion Wesseling Vermins defeated the Neunkirchen Nightmares 12-3. A six-run third blew the game wide open. Margaret Ruckenbrod went 4-for-4 with two RBI. Lisa-Marie Koellner (WES) and Liz Lucas (NKN) hit home runs. Claudia Volkmann earned the win. In game two Michele Daubman pitched a one-hitter to lead the Nightmares to a 2-0 shutout. Maaike Ogink and Malia Theissen scored the two runs in the fourth and the fifth. Julia Dickmeiss took the loss. Games three to five will be played in Wesseling this coming weekend.
