This was the story of the day on Tuesday in the Baseball community and beyond. Wake Forest head coach Tom Walter donated a kidney to one of his own players at the NCAA Division I University. Freshman outfielder Kevin Jordan, who had been drafted by the New York Yankees last June but choose to attend Wake Forest, was diagnosed with ANCA vasculitis last year and needed a transplant. No one in his family was a match. Walter was and didn’t hesitate to make the big step to help Jordan. On Monday the kidney got transplanted as both surgeries went well.
