The new team in the Italian Softball League, the Blue Girls Bologna, added a second foreign player for the 2012 season. The 23-year-old Venezuelan pitcher Johana Gomez joins Geovanny Nunez as newcomers in Italian softball. Gomez already looks back at a long career, having played for Venezuela in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. She attended Lee University and was named pitcher of the year in the NAIA in 2010, when she batted .516 and posted an ERA of 0.72. The new season in the Italian Softball League starts on March 24.
