The Netherlands and Germany will play in the final of the U15 European Championship in Wiener Neustadt, Austria on Sunday. Germany, which won the title in 2015, defeated the Czech Republic 9-8 in a thrilling semi-final on Saturday morning, nearly blowing a 9-3 lead on their way. The Dutch team beat France 6-2.
In the classification round Spain and Russia celebrated lopsided victories over Poland and Lithuania. All four already are relegated to the B-Pool, as the U15 European Championship will be reduced to eight participants in 2019 to accommodate the international tournament calendar of the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
In the game for fifth place Italy scored seven runs in the first en route to an easy win over Austria.
