This years transfers within the Swedish League were announced today, with January 31 being the last day to file the papers.

Stockholm BSC gets pitcher Niklas ERICKSSON from Alby. ERICKSSON posted an 8.93 ERA with 20 K’s over 45.1 innings. At the plate, he also contributed with a .309 batting average and eight base on balls in 52 plate appearances.

After losing Niklas ERICKSSON and Joaquin PEDROSO, Alby IF gets Sebastian DIAZ (.315, 8.10 ERA), Aridany MORENO (.066) and Raul LOZANO (.260) from Stockholm BSC. Alby can expect more from Aridany MORENO than his stats from last year suggests, as his batting average usually hovers round the .300 mark. Alby also gets Rafael CAMPOS and Ramon Illa ARGUDIN from the local team Enskede.

Newly promoted Raettvik BSK acquires pitcher Peter JANSSON and shortstop Jonas ANDERSSON from Gefle BC. Peter JANSSON posted a 5.27 ERA with 45 K’s over 54.2 innings pitched. Jonas ANDERSSON posted a .250 BA with ten BB and only five K’s over 124 plate appearances last year.

Last years semi-finalist Tranås gets all-rounder David LEANDER and outfielder Gary JOHNSSON, and also in this transfer it is Gefle BC that has to give up the players. David LEANDER is a national team player, who last year batted .275 with 6 RBIs over 65 plate appearances. The three seasons prior to last he hit .311, .326 and .465 respectively, so there is a lot more potential than what last years figures indicates. Veteran Gary JOHNSON, who will be 45 years old when the season starts had limited playing time last season, and got one hit, a triple, in 27 plate appearances.

The move that should have the biggest impact is Joaquin PEDROSO representing Sundbyberg next year. He is a very talented and speedy fielder, and is also expected to contribute with his bat from the forth or fifth spot in the Sundbyberg line-up. Also David LEANDER should boost Tranås chances significantly.

Please note that the Swedish Federation has yet to verify the transactions.
