The ticket sale for the Dutch portion of the second round at the IBAF Baseball World Cup has been started on www.wkhonkbal2009.nl. The venues in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Rotterdam will host the second round games from 13 to 20 September, 2009. Besides the Dutch National Team, which has a bye for round one, seven teams from the five preliminary pools will play in the Netherlands.
From Pool B (Barcelona: Spain, Cuba, Puerto Rico, South Africa), the number one and two in the standings will advance to the Netherlands, as well as the group winners from Pool D (Moscow: Russia, Nicaragua, Japan, Great Britain) and Pool E (Regensburg: USA, Venezuela, Germany, China). Additionally three of the four best third-ranked teams of phase one will come to the three Dutch cities. Parallel to the round two played in the Netherlands; the other eight advancing teams will go to Italy for phase two. The final round, including the final in Nettuno, solely will be played in Italy.
Prices in the Netherlands range between €10 (Single Game Day Ticket), over €15 (Two Games a Day Ticket) to €17.50 (Game Days with Dutch National Team) for game day tickets. A full-strip pass for one of the three venues in Amsterdam, Haarlem or Rotterdam cost €80. Kids up to twelve years get a discount on all categories.
