The TEMPLIERS SENART will not play in the European Cup tournament next year, but on Saturday they still secured one of the two French spots in the A-Pool with two victories against the BERN CARDINALS from Switzerland. In the European Cup Playoff at the Stade Pershing in Mortemart/Paris, SENART won the best-of-three series 2-0 thanks to a 9-5 and a 7-3 win.
Playing in the French Elite League playoffs, the TEMPLIERS had lost all nine games in the past couple of weeks. The SAVIGNY LIONS and the ROUEN HUSKIES will represent France in the European Cups next year. Both also will play for the French championship, starting next weekend.
The CARDINALS had won a European Cup Qualifier for a second straight year, but like last year they couldn’t clinch a berth for Switzerland in the Playoff. BERN is going to battle for the Swiss championship against the THERWIL FLYERS.
More on the two games later this week
