Telemarket Rimini, which cruised to five wins in five games during the European Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands last week and comfortably is sitting in a tie for first place in the Italian Baseball League, is reinforcing its pitching staff with the Australian left-hander Adam Bright. Sporting a British passport the southpaw is eligible to pitch in game two each week.
The 25-year-old Bright is from Melbourne, Australia and spent seven seasons in the farm system of the Colorado Rockies between 2003 and 2009, pitching in Double-A Tulsa in his last three years. In 291 games, all as a reliever, he had a 17-27 record with a combined ERA of 4.28. He struck out 256 batters in 334 1/3 innings, walking 168.
Bright also was a member of the Australian National Team during several international tournaments, including the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classics and the Baseball World Cups 2005, 2007 and 2009. Last winter he won the Claxton Shield Tournament in his home country with the Victoria Aces and worked as a pitching coach in the Melbourne Winter Baseball League.
