Telemarket Rimini finishes first in First Round of Coppa Italia
RIMINI also won their game on Saturday at the last of three Coppa Italia three-team tournaments in the first round to finish in first place with a 5-1 record. They now wait for the conclusion of the semi-final round in the Italian Baseball League playoffs and are going to face the third and fourth ranked clubs afterwards. The winner of the next leg of the Coppa Italia is playing the loser of the Italian series to determine the cup champion.

RIMINI scored six runs in the first two frames en route to a 7-3 victory on Saturday afternoon against PARMA, clinching first place with the win. Mario Chiarini homered in each of his first two at bats to bring five runners home. Clinton Balgera went back-to-back with Chiarini in the first.
Chris Di Roma (RIM) started and allowed two hits and two walks in three innings. Roberto Cabalisti picked up the win for two no-hit innings of relief. Stefano Bazzarini took the loss, giving up five hits, six runs and four base on balls in three innings.

GODO used its home field advantage in the night game to pick up their lone win at the Coppa Italia 2008, by beating CARIPARMA 7-2. Similar to the PARMA match of the afternoon the outcome was decided early, when DE ANGELIS scored five times in the second and third period.
Robert De Franceschi went four-for-five with a homerun and four RBI. Giacomo Meriggi had two hits and two RBI in the box score.
Matteo Galeotti allowed just one hit, a run and three walks in five innings to receive the win. Filippo Mori was responsible for ten hits, six runs (5 ER) and three bb in six innings.
