Team USA finishes World Cup tune up with shutout
Team USA shutout Peoria 3-0 in the last of six games at the Arizona Fall League. They finished the exhibition schedule with a 4-2 record.
Josh OUTMAN and Brian DUENSING threw four innings each. They allowed only seven hits and one walk combined. Both are options for the starting rotation in Taipei.
The Offense had their problems against major league proven starter Ricky NOLASCO, who one-hit them over five innings. As he left the mound, they started the scoring. Jason JAMARILLO scored the first run in the sixth on a ground out by Jayson NIX. They added two more runs in the seventh through a RBI-single by Tyler COVLIN and a sacrifice fly by JAMARILLO.
They are placed in group A at the World Cup. Their first game is on November 7 against Mexico.
