Week three in the Australian Baseball League ended with a 2-0 shutout by the Sydney Blue Sox over the Brisbane Bandits. Joshua Dean and Patrick Maat scored the two lone runs of the day in the seventh inning on a RBI single by Andrew Graham and a sac fly by Michael Lysaught. Brad Dutton and Daniel Lamb-Hunt had one hit each for Brisbane. After being called out on strikes in the eighth, Dutton got ejected by home plate umpire Craig Beinke. Craig Anderson (W 1-0) allowed just six hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings for the win. With the win Sydney moved into a tie with the Adelaide Bite (both 6-2) for first place in the Australian Baseball League. Canberra Cavalry with German first baseman/outfielder Donald Lutz and Dutch shortstop Mariekson Gregorius is 2-6.
