Swiss Softball Finals: Therwil Flyers new champion

The Therwil Flyers won their fifth Swiss Softball championship since 2000. They defeated last years champion Zurich Challengers 8-6 in game three last Sunday. A RBI-groundout by Babsi MEIERHANS in the bottom of the sixth frame was responsible for the winning run. Both teams fought hard and the lead changed several times.

Karen HEIMGARTNER led Zurich with a strong effort on the mound to a 6-1 win in game two. She allowed only five hits, one run and one walk, while striking out 14.

The Flyers won a slugfest on Saturday. They built an early lead and needed insurance runs at the end, after some rallies from the C´s. Babsi MEIERHANS (Fly) and Leandra SIMITOVIC (Cha) belted homeruns.
Results:
Saturday September 29
Game 1: Zurich Challengers – Therwil Flyers 12-14
Sunday September 30
Game 2: Therwil Flyers – Zurich Challengers 1-6
Game 3: Therwil Flyers – Zurich Challengers 8-6

    Hello,

I am a college pitching coach and softball instructor with over 18 years experience with high-level softball. I have coached at the Divison I and Division II levels and also at the JuCo level, all in Florida.
I have also coached at the Gold level in the southeast U.S. I have also worked with JoAnne Graf, (Florida State), Meagan Matthews, (U.K. pitcher), and Cat Osterman in various clinics.
I have sent one young lady to play in Austria and I am sending one this next season to Switzerland, (Amber West, Florida Tech pitcher), and I have also recommended coaches for U.K. softball positions in the past.
If you are interested in having me for a clinic or for coaching a team for a summer of ball, feel free to contact me.
