Following an incident during game three of the semi-final series between the Bern Cardinals and the Lausanne Indians on September 5th in Lausanne, the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation announced on Tuesday sanctions against both clubs. The game already was ruled a 9-0 forfeit in favor of the Cardinals.
Sanctions:

All remaining games in the 2009 season, including the decisive fifth match of the semi-finals have to be played at a neutral site. The Cardinals and the Indians also have to play their first three home games in 2010 not on their own field.
Bern Cardinals:
- 1 player receives suspension for 4 games due to intentional hitting a batter
- 1 player receives suspension for 10 games due to ordering hitting a batter and insulting opposing players on and off the field
Lausanne Indians:
- 1 player receives suspension for 1 game due to charging the mound
- 1 player receives suspension for 4 games due to attempted aggressions against several opposing players
- 1 player receives suspension for 12 games due to entering the playing field with a bat, even though he wasn’t a player
- 1 player receives suspension for two years due to severe physical violence against players
