The planning for the Baseball World Cup group in Sundbyberg is well underway. The City of Sundbyberg and the Swedish Federation is working together to not only create a good environment for the baseball tournament, but also an event for the citizens of Sundbyberg. The event will not only be filled with high-class baseball from Olympic Champions South Korea, Sweden, Canada and Netherlands Antilles, but also with high-class entertainment on the side of the field.
With over 800 tickets sold to the Baseball World Cup in Sundbyberg, the hosts plan to have a event area next to the field that should attract up to a few thousand visitors per day during the World Cup Days.
This way, each day will be filled with entertainment, music, baseball, and good food and drinks.
The event area will also have some amusement rides, a miniature Baseball Road Show, as well as exhibitor tents and VIP areas for sponsors and special invitees.
Every day, the gates to the field as well as to the event area open two hours before first pitch. Different cover bands will perform before the game at the restaurant stage to warm up the crowds before the games, and the caterers will offer good food and drinks to make sure that everybody is prepared for the baseball games.
On Saturday, the feature performer is Martin “E-type” Eriksson, with seven albums in the Top 10 Swedish Charts and 18 singles in the Top 20 during his career. E-type also recorded the official song for the 2000 European Soccer Championships, “Campione” (YouTube Clip).
The euro dance performer will perform together with the cover band “Farbror Fläsk” on Saturday to close out the event and in true E-type fashion there will be lots of fireworks on stage.
