Suspensions announced for players involved in brawl

The length of the suspensions for the seven players, who were involved in a brawl in the Dutch Hoofdklasse between CORENDON KINHEIM and KONICA MINOLTA PIONIERS on May 18, was announced on Saturday.

Dirk van’t Klooster, Bryan Engelhardt, Jason Halman and Jeffrey Verbij of KINHEIM in addition to Glenn Romney, Norbert Lokhorst and Edwin de Graaf of the PIONIERS each got suspended for ten games, of which two are on probation, which means, the punishment lasts for eight games. The players from CORENDON already have served six games, from KONICA MINOLTA five.

The dugouts cleared after several base running incidents boiled over, which led to shoveling and a brawl between both squads. The game was called and ruled as a 2-0 victory for KINHEIM. After Saturday’s games the PIONIERS are leading the standings with a 14-4 record in front of CORENDON (15-5).
