Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam adds Shortstop Jose Castillo

The Dutch Hoofdklasse club Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam has added the Venezuelan shortstop Jose Castillo for the upcoming season. The 27-year-old, who also has a Spanish passport, had joined the Spanish national team last summer for the Italian Baseball Week and the European Championship in Germany. Afterwards he played for the Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz in the Copa del Rey. Earlier in his baseball career he was a member of Venezuelan youth national teams, participating in World Championships. Sparta/Feyenoord is kicking off its preseason schedule on March 12 and 13 with matchups against the Euro Stars. One week later they will travel to Antwerp for two games versus the Port of Antwerp Greys.
