South Korea upsets Venezuela with shutout
Despite the fact, that their best players are not on the roster, the South Korean team is off to a good start into the World Cup of Baseball in Taipei. The pitchers held their opponent bats in check for the second straight day, as they celebrated a 4-0 shutout against Venezuela.
Korea took the lead in the sixth frame and added three insurance runs one inning later. Venezuela mustered just six hits and could not score.
Kim JOO-CHAN and Lee SEUNG-HWA hit homeruns.
Lee SEUNG-HO (W 1-0) continued the strong pitching performance of Wednesday by his team mates and earned the win.
Jesus YEPES (L 0-1) received no run support and had to take the loss.
