Just one week after cutting Luis Gil and replacing him with Chris Beck, the Solingen Alligators again made a switch at a foreign player spot. Starting pitcher Jerome Burton has to go and will be substituted by JD Sholten. The 31-year-old right-hander pitched four seasons in Independent Leagues between 2003 and 2007 and already has European experience, after playing in Belgium and France in the past. Burton had an ERA of 3.95 for Solingen, not good enough for an American hurler according to a statement by club president Lutz Traebert in a local newspaper. He also was cut by the Buchbinder Legionaere last year.
