The 12th Women’s Softball World Championship in Caracas, Venezuela continued throughout the weekend with mixed results for the three European teams in the tournament. The Dutch team won all three of their contest and improved to 4-1, only trailing Japan in the Group A standings. Great Britain, which is in the same pool, on the other hand, lost twice and dropped to 1-4. In Group B the Czech Republic lost twice to Venezuela and Australia before coming back on Sunday to defeat Botswana. They are now 3-2 and ranked fifth, but have to face Team USA and China in the remaining two preliminary round games.
