Shortstop Tavo Hall among 3 new Players for Haar Disciples



The German Baseball-Bundesliga club HAAR DISCIPLES announced three more signings for the upcoming season. Shortstop Tavo Hall is coming from the University of San Francisco, the corner infielders Michael Stephan and Christoph Ziegler played for local rival GAUTING INDIANS last year.

The 24-year-old Hall is from Albuquerque, New Mexico and went to La Cueva High School, before joining USF. He played four years for the NCAA Division I college. Last June he was selected as the 2008 Mike Gilleran West Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In the summer of 2006 he also played in the famous Cap Cod League. He batted .277 (OBP .337/SLG .338) with 48 stolen bases, 32 doubles, 116 runs and 76 RBI in 180 games during his college career.

In addition to him HAAR is bringing in two German prospects. The 19-year-old Stephan is a member of the Under-21 National Team and hit .381 with a tournament-best ten RBI at the European Championships in Pamplona last year. In 20 games for the INDIANS he batted .192 (OBP .276/SLG .256) with five runs scored and eleven RBI. Junior National Team member Ziegler is 16 years old. He batted .205 (OBP .318/SLG .262) with six runs scored and four RBI in 21 games for GAUTING last year.
