Shairon Martis, who was actually supposed to pitch in an intra-squad game on Sunday, relieved in a regular Grapefruit League game on Monday. He followed Garrett Mock and Drew Storen on the mound, throwing two scoreless frames against the Atlanta Braves. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed just a leadoff walk to Melky Cabrera and an infield single to Gregor Blanco in his second inning of work. Roger Bernadina started in leftfield for the 0-11 Nationals, going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
