Seth Nowakowski completes Mitchell College battery in Saarlouis

Catcher Seth Nowakowski will form a battery with former teammate Salvatore Messina and tries to bring the club back on track after a few wild weeks. Nowakowski and Messina both attended Mitchell College in Connecticut and led the team in batting. Both are scheduled to arrive in time to play for SAARLOUIS against the MAINZ ATHLETICS on Sunday.

Nowakowski .435 with five homeruns, 36 runs scored and 37 RBI in 24 games 2007. He also led the team with 14 stolen bases. During the 2008 season he batted .379 with four homeruns, 37 runs scored and 36 RBI in 31 games.  He was successful in 12 of 14 stolen base attempts.

The HORNETS have a few chaotic weeks behind them. First they suspended and released their best player in Chris Sweeney. A few days late, head coach Fred Beitler was released too and returned to North America. Last weekend they lost both games in Heidenheim and dropped to two games under .500. They are now tied with a 5-7 record in fourth place.
