Season finished for Jan-Niclas Stöcklin with Knee Injury

For one of the top prospects in European baseball the 2011 season already has ended. Jan-Niclas Stöcklin of the Mainz Athletics tore his ACL in a second-division game last weekend. In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the 20-year-old right-hander had a 3-0 record with an ERA of 1.59 in five starts. He struck out 39 batters in 34 innings, walking 14. He also batted .350/.381/.800 with a homerun, three triples, five runs and five RBI.
