San Marino wins last preseason tournament in Italy
T&A SAN MARINO defeated MONTEPASCHI GROSSETO 3-1 in the finals of the 17th edition of the preseason tournament “Blue F Ball” in Bologna. FORTITUOD BOLOGNA won the bronze medal game 2-0 against CARIPARMA.
GROSSETO had reached the finals due to a 2-2 tie against BOLOGNA, but had more hits in ten innings accomplished than FORTITUDO and advanced through this special tournament rule. SAN MARINO out-slugged CARIPARMA 8-4 in the second semi-final.
The Italian Baseball League opens the new season on Thursday evening with games between GROSSETO and RANGERS REDIPUGLIA (live on RAI Sport Satellite) in addition to a match of CARIPARMA against TELEMARKET RIMINI.
