It took eleven innings and three hours and 55 minutes of play for SAN MARINO to hold down the Italian Baseball League leader FORTITUDO. Riccardo Suardi came to bat and walked on five pitches to bring Martin Vasquez (4-5, 2 runs) home to end the game.

Martin Vargas got the start for FORTITUDO. He allowed five hits, two runs and three walks in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out nine. Jesus Matos replaced him in the fifth, giving up nine hits, three runs and three base on balls in 6 1/3 innings of relief. He also had nine strikeouts. He took the loss nonetheless. Horacio Estrada began for SAN MARINO. He threw five two-hit four walk innings. Brian Looney relieved him and received the win.
