Three weeks before the start of the new season and DE ANGELIS GODO of the Italian Baseball League added two American pitchers to their staff. The 30-year-old Ryan Lee Baerlocher is from Lewiston, Idaho. Cory Walters is two years younger and was born in Winnie, Texas.
Baerlocher went to the Lewiston High School in his hometown and to the Lewis-Clark State College before being selected in the 6th round of the 1999 amateur draft by the KANSAS CITY ROYALS. After marching through the system he reached the AAA level in 2002, but never made it to the big leagues. After his college career at the Sam Houston State University, Walters joined independent league ball. He played in the Northern League and the American Association (AA). In 2006 he was named the best right-handed pitcher of the AA. He has a 49-37 record with an ERA of 3.70 and a WHIP of 1.23 in 133 games (105 starts).
