The ROYAL GREYS took full advantage of their home field advantage on Sunday and swept the doubleheader versus the BERN CARDINALS to clinch a Belgian spot in next year’s A-pool European Cups. The other eleven participants are two teams each from Italy, France, Netherlands and Spain, in addition to one apiece from Germany, Czech Republic and San Marino. The ROYAL GREYS can clinch their berth with a successful Belgian Series against the HOBOKEN PIONEERS, which start next week.
The CARDINALS had won both games on Friday against KAUNAS LITUANICA and were in a position to bring the European Cup to Switzerland after a ROYAL GREYS loss to KAUNAS on Saturday. But the Belgian Champion of 2007 had their A-game on, beating BERN 8-2 and 6-0.
