Three Rouen Huskies Players to work out in Florida

Three Rouen Huskies Players to work out in Florida

Three players of the French club Rouen Huskies are currently in Cocoa, Florida to attend a training camp. Shortstop Maxime Lefevre, second baseman Oscar Combes and pitcher Quentin Becquey are going to practice with other players from the St. Lawrence College in Quebec (ages 18 to 22) at the Cocoa Expo Complex. They will stay in the sunshine state for 15 days.

Jean Philippe Roy, who also is a scout for the Milwaukee Brewers, is the coordinator of the program. Other coaches will be Christian Chenard (played for Rouen in 2003/2004), Patrick Scalabrini (Capitales de Quebec), Dave Dufour (Condors de Charlesbourg) and Dominik Walsh (Monarques de Levis). The regular players in the St. Lawrence College program are practicing four months at facilities in Quebec and two in Florida. The goal is also to give visibility, so they can be seen by American universities.

The organizers hope that Lefevre, Combes and Becquey will return next year for the full six-month program. During the two weeks the MLB Scouting Bureau will be on hand to produce reports. Jean Philippe Roy is going to do the same for the Brewers.
