Dutch national team outfielder Roger Bernadina has found a new employer. He has signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets, which also includes an invitation to Major League Spring Training in Port St. Lucie. The 31-year-old Willemstad native probably has to settle for a spot on the Triple-A team at the start of the season, as the Mets have Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, Michael Conforto, Alejandro De Aza and Juan Langares on the roster as outfielders. Bernadina has played in a total of 548 games in the big leagues with the Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers since 2008. He spent all of 2015 in the minors.
