The 48-year-old right-handed pitcher Roberto Cabalisti continues his Italian Baseball League career. Godo confirmed on Tuesday that the veteran has extended his contract for another year. Additionally he will serve as the new pitching coach for the team on the staff of new head coach Steve Weidner. In 2009, his first season with the club, he had a 4-3 record with an ERA of 7.02 in 20 games, striking out 29 batters in 33 1/3 innings (17 walks).
Cabalisti made his IBL debut in 1984 with Trieste. He later joined Verona and San Marino before moving to Rimini, where he took the mound from 1989 to 2008. He has a record of 165-88 and an ERA of 3.33 in 520 career games (86 starts). He collected 1,861 strikeouts (803 walks) in 2,220 2/3 innings. He is the all-time leader in games pitched in Italy, fifth in wins, second in saves (61) and third in strikeouts.
