Novara Baseball
The 41-year-old Venezuelan veteran Robert Perez is the first major acquisition for the new Italian Baseball League team Novara. The former Major Leaguer with the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers also had played in Japan, South Korea, Mexico and obviously Venezuela. He had a .254 batting average (OBP .271/SLG .344) with eight homeruns in 221 games. Novara is replacing the Catania Warriors in the IBL in 2011.
Telemarket Rimini
The Greek American Panagiotis Sikaras is apparently on the move from the North East Knights to Telemarket Rimini. The former minor leaguer, a right-handed pitcher, had an ERA of 3.07 with 61 strikeouts and 21 walks in 58 2/3 innings last year.
