According to Honkbalsite.com the Dutch Hoofdklasse club Konica Minolta Pioniers brings back Robert Klaver to take over as head coach. He already was in this position from 2002 to 2005 leading the Pioniers four times into the playoffs. He also won a European Cup in 2003. He briefly returned to the Hoofdklasse afterwards, coaching the MediaMonks RCH in 2008.
The Pioniers had parted ways with Klaver’s predecessor Bernie Beckman in June as they were in danger to miss the playoffs. Assistant coaches Theo Geerman, Peter Barentsen and Dé Flanegin took over for the remainder of the season. Konica Minolta finished the season in fourth place after being swept 0-3 in the semi-finals by DOOR Neptunus.
