The Ukrainian Baseball championship started on Wednesday with three games. Defending champion KNTU started its 2009 campaign with a 10-0 shutout. RK DYuSSh-Dinamo received the promotion to the first division this winter, but began with a 1-11 loss. Also playing in the league is KVINT from Pridnestrovie, which prevailed in ten innings on opening day.
