After celebrating 40 years of Softball in Bollate on Whitsuntide, the Italian Softball League played their ninth game day last Saturday. DES CASERTA stays at the top of the standings, but suffered their third loss of the season in their twin bill with MOSCA MACERATA. After dominating game one with a 10-1 in six innings, they dropped the second one 0-1 in nine innings. Miriana Cerioni drove in the lone run with a RBI single in the bottom of the second extra inning. Jocelin McCallum struck out 15 in a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits and three walks. Jennifer Davis started for DES CASERTA and struck out 13 in 6 2/3 scoreless innings. SANOTINT BOLLATE, FIORINI FORLI and MUSEO D’ARTE NUORO each celebrated sweeps in their doubleheaders.
