In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the first half of the playdowns is over. In the northern division even the return of Markus Solbach to the Pulheim Gophers following the completion of his first season in the minor leagues couldn’t help avoid a pair of losses to the Dohren Wild Farmers. Pulheim’s lead over the Berlin Sluggers in the standings was reduced to two games, as the club from the German capital was able to split against the HSV Stealers. In the southern division for a second week in a row the second game of a doubleheader was decided via a forfeit. After the Gauting Indians had beaten the Bad Homburg Hornets in game one of the twin bill, an injury led to a player shortage for the Indians and the Hornets picked up a victory. Nothing changes in the standings.
