In the German Baseball-Bundesliga pitching continues to dominate the headlines of the 2013 season. Richard Olson threw a seven-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 shutout against the Tubingen Hawks. Stuttgart used Thomas de Wolf in game one, who had started the season with the Hawks, went home and now is back in the Bundesliga.
Also in the southern division the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe handed the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg their biggest loss in Bundesliga history, a 20-3 pounding, highlighted by a 12-run fourth. James McOwen had five hits and one of the four home runs. On Friday Regensburg had prevailed on a walk-off RBI single by Maik Ehmke in the tenth.
In the northern division Nick Renault struck out 19 to lead his Solingen Alligators to a 4-1 win in game two versus the Dohren Wild Farmers. The Bonn Capitals crushed the Berlin Sluggers, while the Untouchables Paderborn did the same with the Dortmund Wanderers. The HSV Stealers followed suit and defeated the Cologne Cardinals twice to remain in the top four.
