The defending Softball Hoofdklasse champion Tex Town Tigers defeated Terrasvogels twice last Saturday and moved into a tie for first place. In game one Lindsey Meadows excelled with seven innings of one-hit ball, leading the Tigers to a 1-0 win. She struck out five. In the second match she again picked up the win, her sixth of the season, striking out ten in six four-hit, two-walk innings. Sparks Haarlem solidified third place with a sweep over the Euro Stars.
Besides the league action, the Women National Team made their annual Holland tour and played six games between May 3rd and May 10th. On their first stop they defeated the Euro Stars 7-3 and 8-2. A few days later they met with the Junior National Team and won by scores of 7-0 and 12-1. They added two more wins on Sunday against the Centrals (13-1, 11-1). After rescheduling the game against the foreign all-stars, they will play their next game on Sunday against the Gryphons. More on the Holland Tour on the official website of the team.
