The first round of the Baseball-Bundesliga playoffs brought some interesting results. The two southern powerhouses HEIDENHEIM and REGENSBURG had no problems with their opponents. The HEIDEKOEPFE celebrated two lopsided wins in DORTMUND. The BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE shut out the CARDINALS in both ends of the doubleheader to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-series as well.
The two frontrunners in the north, PADERBORN and SOLINGEN didn’t have so much success in their quarterfinals. The UNTOUCHABLES had to settle for a split in MANNHEIM, after winning game one 4-3. The ALLIGATORS scored six runs in the ninth of their first match in MAINZ to win 6-0. Chris Beck had a three-run homerun. But they lost the second one through a walk off three-run double by Max Boldt in the ninth 3-4.
Short Recaps to follow on Monday.
