The German Baseball-Bundesliga closed out the first half of the regular season this weekend. In the northern division the Solingen Alligators extended their lead in the standings thanks to a sweep over the Bonn Capitals and two stunning home losses by the Paderborn Untouchables against the Pulheim Gophers. The HSV Stealers moved into fourth place with two wins over the Cologne Cardinals and two losses by the Dohren Wild Farmers against the Dortmund Wanderers.
In the south the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg improved to 14-0 for the season with shutouts in Haar. Klaus Hopfensperger, Ludwig Glaser and Rodney Gessmann hit homeruns, as they out-scored the Disciples 22-0. They even extended their lead to four games, as the Heidekoepfe had to settle for a split in Mannheim. The Gauting Indians moved into fifth place due to a sweep over the Neuenburg Atomics. Matti Emery had a walk-off double in the tenth in game one. The Saarlouis Hornets are also back alive as Jakub Vojak and Raef Hobbs-Brown hit crucial homeruns in a surprise sweep on the road against the Mainz Athletics.
