Rene Franke returns to Untouchables Paderborn

It is not exactly new news, but we just discovered that we haven’t posted it yet. Left-handed pitcher Rene Franke will leave the Mannheim Tornados after five years and will return to the Untouchables Paderborn. The 26-year-old had a 6-6 record with an ERA of 4.79 in 14 games for the Tornados this season. He struck out 81 batters in 97 2/3 innings, while walking 44. He played for Paderborn in 2003, 2005 and 2006. He also wore the jersey of the Strausberg Sun Warriors and the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe in the Baseball-Bundesliga. He cited professional reasons as motive for the transfer.
