Two solo homeruns by Wuilliuans Vasquez in the first and the sixth lifted T&A San Marino to a 2-1 victory over Unipol Bologna on Thursday evening in the Italian Baseball League. Julio Ramirez had tied the contest for Fortitudo with a RBI single in the fourth. Otherwise pitching dominated. After Luca Martignoni, who started in place of the injured Henry Bonilla, allowed four hits and a run in 3 1/3 solid innings, Darwin Cubilan (W) took over. The former big leaguer shut down the Bologna offense, issuing just one hit and two walks in 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out seven. Jesus Matos (L) gave up two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.
North East Knights – Cariparma Parma 1-5

Cariparma Parma used a four-run fourth to dispatch the North East Knights in Godo by a score of 5-1. Luca Scalera highlighted the rally with a three-run homerun. Danilo Sanchez had given Godo-Verona a short-lived lead with a solo shot in the second. Marco Grifantini (W) conceded four hits, a run and a walk in seven innings. Rodney Rodriguez (L) was charged with four unearned runs on four hits and three bb in five innings.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Danesi Nettuno 6-2

Luca Bischeri cleared the bases with a three-run double during a four-run seventh, which broke a 2-2 tie in a 6-2 win by Montepaschi Grosseto over Danesi Nettuno. Andrea Sgnaolin had put Grosseto back in front with a RBI single a few batters prior to the big hit. Giuseppe Mazzanti had tied the contest with a solo homerun in the top of the frame. Montepaschi had led since a two-run single by Daniel Bittar in the opening period. Jean Granado (GRO) issued two hits, a run and three walks in five-plus innings. Marcos Carvajal (W) blew the lead, but still picked up the win after six strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings of relief. Kris Wilson (L) gave up seven hits, six runs (5 ER) and two bb in seven innings.
