Corendon Kinheim – Vaessen Pioniers 3-10 (10)
The Vaessen Pioniers rallied for a win at Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem on Thursday. They erased a 1-3 deficit in the last two frames and scored seven runs in the tenth inning en route to a 10-3 victory over Corendon Kinheim. Norbert Lokhorst scored the tying run on an error in the ninth. Mark Duursma and Kevin Dirksen highlighted the big rally in the first extra inning with a two-run double and a two-run single. Kinheim had scored three runs in the second through a two-run double by Quintin de Cuba and a sac fly Rachid Engelhardt. But they couldn’t do much else.
Mr. Cocker HCAW – AamigoO ADO Lakers 13-3 (6)
Mr. Cocker HCAW crushed the AamigoO ADO Lakers 13-3 in six innings on Thursday. Six runs in the third gave them an 8-3 lead, five runs in the fifth blew the contest wide open. Six players from HCAW scored twice. Dylan De Mello collected three RBI. Sander Helmendach pitched 5 2/3 innings for the win. Reggie Bomberg took the loss for the ADO Lakers. Ludwin Obispo, Phil Ortez and Anthony Hooi had two hits apiece.
Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam – DOOR Neptunus 0-12 (7)
DOOR Neptunus crushed Sparta/Feyenoord 12-0 in seven innings in the Rotterdam derby. Six runs in the second inning decided things quickly. Rafael Jozefa tripled twice and drove in six runs. Jeffrey Arends hit a two-run homerun. Bobby Carrington, Kevin van Veen and Berry van Driel combined in the three-hit shutout. Reynaldo Claro was charged with the loss.
L&D Amsterdam – UVV 2-2 (10)
The consecutive winning streak by L&D Amsterdam is over after 11 straight victories. However they remain undefeated in 12 games following a 2-2 tie against UVV. The game ended after ten innings due to curfew rule. It was a tight pitching battle, which saw neither team score in the first nine innings. The IBAF extra inning tiebreaker rule finally helped to put runs on the board, but couldn’t find a winner. UVV scored twice in the top of the tenth on a bases loaded walk by Danny Rombley and a groundout by Giovanni Samboe. The Pirates countered with Rashid Gerard who scored on a passed ball and a sac fly by Sidney de Jong. Rob Cordemans (AMS) pitched eight scoreless four-hit innings, striking out nine. Jurjen van Zijl allowed three hits and three walks in six innings.
