Unipol Bologna blew a 3-1 lead in the top of the ninth, but still got away with a 5-4 victory against Telemarket Rimini thanks to a RBI single by Joe Mazzuca and a sac fly by Julio Ramirez in the bottom of the frame. In the top of the inning, Daniele Santolupo and Paolo Tanesini had driven in three runs with singles, giving Telemarket a short-lived advantage. Fabio Betto (BOL) issued three hits, an unearned run and two walks in seven innings. Sandy Patrone (RIM) lasted just three frames, conceding six hits, two runs and two bb. Mark Langone (W) got the win, Tommaso Cherubini (L) the loss.

Cariparma Parma scored five fast runs in the first three innings en route to a 5-2 win over Montepaschi Grosseto. Orlando Munoz and Luca Scalera had two RBI apiece. Roberto Corradini (W) gave up four hits, two runs and a walk in six innings. Riccardo De Santis (L) struck out nine in nine innings, allowing six hits, five runs (4 ER) and five bb. He threw 139 pitches, 86 for strikes.

T&A San Marino overpowered the De Angelis North East Knights by a score of 12-3. Lorenzo Avagnina and Francesco Imperiali went a combined 4-for-7 with two homeruns, five runs and six RBI. Imperiali hit a grand slam. Carlos Duran drove in two. Ivan Granados (W) gave up five hits, two runs and a walk in five innings. Matteo Galeotti (L) issued five hits, seven runs (5 ER) and five bb in two-plus innings.

Danesi Nettuno completed a sweep over Novara United with two wins on Saturday. In the afternoon game Jose Escalona (W), Jose Estebin Cruz and Fernando Gutierrez combined to hold Novara to three hits, an unearned run and three walks, while striking out nine in a 6-1 victory. Olmo Perez Rosario scored twice. Ennio Retrosi and Renato Imperiali each had two hits and a RBI. Enrico Ciuffetelli (L) surrendered four hits, four runs and six bb in four-plus innings.

In the night cap of the doubleheader Danesi Nettuno celebrated a lopsided 11-1 win over Novara United. Olmo Perez Rosario went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Enzo Sanna scored three times. Carlos Richetti (W) struck out seven in six scoreless two-hit innings. Alejandro Morese (L) was charged with eight hits, six runs and three bb in 5 1/3 innings.
