Burlea struck out seven and walked four in six innings to pick up the win. Alex Sambucci drove in two during a four-run rally in the fourth. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (L) surrendered three hits, four runs and three bb in 3 1/3 innings.

Rimini took an early 2-0 lead and added four insurance runs in the eighth in a 6-1 win on Saturday evening. Lorenzo Avagnina and Leo Serafin De Camargo drove in two runs each. Sandy Patrone (W) struck out eight in six solid innings for the win. He issued just an unearned run on four hits and two walks. Roberto Corradini (L) settled in after the opening period and allowed seven hits, two runs and a bb in seven innings.

Grosseto won the opening game of the series in Godo on Friday evening by a score of 12-1 in seven innings. Andrea De Santis (2-4, 3 runs, 3 RBI), Gabriele Ermini (3 RBI) and Leonardo Mazzanti all went deep. Danny Sandoval went 4-for-5. John Diaz (W) gave up just three hits and a run in five innings. Keith Ramsey (L) conceded seven hits, six runs (1 ER) and a bb in 3 2/3 innings.

Chris Cooper (W) allowed seven hits and a walk in 6 2/3 scoreless innings and combined with reliever Yovany D’Amico to lead Grosseto to a 5-0 shutout in game two on Saturday afternoon. Danny Sandoval headed the offense with three hits, a homerun and three RBI. Panagiotis Sikaras (L) issued three hits, three runs (2 ER) and three bb over four innings in his first start of the season.

The Godo Knights had their best chance to win a game in this series on Saturday evening, as they nearly erased a 1-8 deficit en route to a 9-10 loss. Five runs in the last two frames were not enough to pull off the comeback. The best batter in this game still had a De Angelis jersey. Carlos Villalobos hit three homeruns and drove in six to lead the way. Gary Burnham Jr. scored three times. Kelly Ramos drove in four for Grosseto. Danny Sandoval crossed the plate thrice. Riccardo De Santis (W) gave up four runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings for the win. Francesco Cozzolino (L) surrendered seven hits, six runs (2 ER) and two bb in five-plus innings.

UGF Bologna scored five runs in the sixth and seventh to beat Nettuno 5-2 on Friday evening. Juan Angrisano’s two-run triple put them ahead. A pair of RBI singles by Stefano Landuzzi and Jairo Ramos and a sac fly by Joseph Mazzuca added three more runs one frame later. Jesus Matos (W) allowed five hits, a run and two walks in 6 1/3 innings. Kris Wilson (L) gave up six hits, two runs and a bb in 5 1/3 innings.

Game two of the series with German umpire Jens Waider behind the plate turned out to be a slugfest with a total of 36 runs on 30 hits. Fortitudo prevailed 15-11 in the end. Jairo Ramos (3-4, 4 runs, 3 RBI) homered for Bologna. Eddy Garabito scored four times. Juan Carlos Infante collected four hits in six at-bats. Paolo Ambrosino hit a grand slam for Danesi in the ninth and drove in five overall. Cody Cillo (W) picked up the win after replacing Yulman Ribeiro in the third. Mark LaMacchia (L) took the loss in relief.

While the offense of Nettuno continued to produce runs in bunches in the third game on Saturday evening, Bologna’s batter took the night off and Danesi avoided the sweep with a 12-0 shutout. Carlos Richetti (W) conceded just four hits and two walks in six scoreless innings. Four players scored twice. Lino Connell drove in three. Fabio Betto (L) was charged with seven hits, six runs (5 ER) and a bb in four innings.

San Marino scored seven runs in the sixth to blow game one against the Warriors wide open and to win 11-1 in seven innings. Max De Biase crossed the plate three times. Simon Albanese drove in three. Jose Escalona (W) received the win in relief of Henry Bonilla, who had allowed four hits, a run and a walk in 3 2/3 innings. Yorkin Ferreras (L) surrendered six hits, six runs and six bb in five innings.

After Catania had taken a 1-0 lead in the opening period on a RBI single by Rolexis Molina, Francesco Imperiali tied the contest in the fifth on a throwing error by second baseman David Lionetti. A sac fly by Max De Biase after a triple by Carlos Duran sealed the win for the Titans in the sixth. Tiago Da Silva (W) allowed six hits, a run and three walks in seven innings. Orlando Yntema (L) went the distance, issuing seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb.

In game three San Marino completed the sweep with an 11-7 victory. They turned around a 1-4-deficit with a five-run rally in the fourth and secured the win with four runs in the seventh. Carlos Duran homered and drove in five. Tony Granato reached four times and crossed the plate thrice. Weltin Cabrera (3 RBI) and Giuseppe Sciacca (4-4) went deep for the Warriors. Ilo Bartolucci got the win after 3 1/3 solid innings of relief. Franklyn Torres (L) suffered the loss.
