Unipol Bologna won the rubber match of their series with the North East Knights on Saturday by a score of 11-2. Mark Castellitto drove in four. Juan Carlos Infante, Joe Mazzuca and Livinston Santaniello had three hits apiece. Danilo Sanchez drove in both Godo-Verona runs with a homerun. Fabio Betto (W) pitched five scoreless one-hit innings. Matteo Galeotti (L) issued five hits, six runs (3 ER) and three bb in five innings.

Montepaschi Grosseto won the series against Telemarket Rimini with a 7-4 win on Saturday. Five runs in the seventh decided the outcome. Daniel Bittar drove in three. Andrea Sgnaolin had two RBI on his belt. Brian Chaves collected four hits for the Pirates. Mario Chiarini cleared the bases with a double during the four-run eighth. Riccardo De Santis (W) pitched seven scoreless five-hit innings for the win. Sandy Patrone (L) was charged with four hits, three runs and a walk in six-plus innings.

Cariparma Parma beat Danesi Nettuno 6-1 on Saturday in the IBL. Roberto Corradini (W) went the distance, allowing just five hits, a run and four walks in nine innings. 73 of his 122 pitches were strikes. Davide Dallospedale and Alex Sambucci had two RBI apiece. Jose Estebin Cruz (L) gave up four hits, three runs and two walks in 2 1/3 innings.

Novara United and T&A San Marino settled for the split in their Saturday doubleheader. In the afternoon game Antonio Noguera (W) won the pitcher duel between Spanish national team hurlers against Ivan Granados (L) to lead Novara to a 2-1 win. A bases loaded walk by Carlos Boza in the bottom of the seventh broke a 1-1 tie, deciding the outcome. Earlier Tony Granato and Franklin Tavarez had exchanged homeruns. Noguera issued one run on seven hits in seven innings. Granados conceded six hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Carlos Duran (4 RBI), Lorenzo Avagnina and Francesco Imperiali (3 RBI) hit homeruns as T&A San Marino celebrated a lopsided 15-1 win in the evening game of the twin bill. Robert Perez homered for Novara United. Tiago Da Silva (W) struck out seven in five innings, issuing two hits and a run. Alejandro Morese (L) gave up nine hits, eight runs (6 ER) and a walk in 4 1/3 innings.
