Orlando Munoz hit a three-run homerun in the sixth to lead Cariparma to an 8-1 win on Saturday evening in Rimini. Riccardo Bertagnon and Alex Sambucci combined for four RBI, as Parma won the series two games to one. Roberto Corradini (W) gave up one run on seven hits and a walk in seven innings. Sandy Patrone (L) conceded seven hits, three runs and three bb in 4 2/3 innings.

Danesi Nettuno – UGF Bologna 4-7

UGF Bologna won the rubber match of the series against Danesi Nettuno by a score of 7-4 after adding six runs on the board in the top of the eighth. A two-run double by Daniele Malengo in combination with an error which cleared the bases put Fortitudo ahead during the big rally. Renato Imperiali drove in two for Nettuno. Fabio Betto (BOL) gave up four unearned runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. Carlos Richetti (NET) issued four hits, an unearned run and two bb in six innings. Alessandro Ularetti received the win in relief, Carlos Pezzullo took the loss.

Montepaschi Grosseto – De Angelis Godo Knights 6-2, 1-4

A pair of three-run frames lifted Montepaschi Grosseto to a 6-2 win in the afternoon game against the De Angelis Godo Knights. Danny Sandoval and Andrea De Santis picked up two RBI each. Andrea Sgnaolin hit a solo homerun. Chris Cooper (W) did his job on the mound, allowing just two hits, an unearned run and a walk in five innings. Matteo Galeotti (L) conceded nine hits, six runs and a bb in five innings.

In the night game on Saturday the Godo Knights scored three runs in the top of the eighth en route to a 4-1 win in Grosseto. RBIs by Paolo Tanesini, Stefano Naldoni and Lucas Montalbetti drove in the decisive runs during the rally. Pietro Briggi (W) inherited the win, pitching in relief of Sikaras Panagiotis who had allowed just two hits and an unearned run in six innings. Riccardo De Santis (L) gave up four runs on ten hits in 7 1/3 innings. He struck out seven.

Catania Warriors – T&A San Marino 2-9, 1-6

After T&A San Marino surprisingly had dropped the opener against the Catania Warriors, the Titans came back on Saturday to win the series. In the afternoon game they beat the Sicilian team 9-2 thanks to an impressive showing by the first three hitters in the batting order. Tony Granato, Giovanni Pantaleoni and Carlos Duran combined to go 9-for-14 with two walks, five runs and six RBI. Tiago Da Silva (W) allowed just four hits and two walks in six scoreless innings for the win. Franklyn Torres (L) gave up ten hits, nine runs and seven bb in six-plus innings.

In the evening game T&A San Marino again received a strong performance by their starting pitcher, as Gregory Palanzo (W) conceded just four hits and a walk in six scoreless innings in a 6-1 victory over the Catania Warriors. Giovanni Pantaleoni, Carlos Duran and Max De Biase had two RBI each. William Lucena (L) issued six hits, six runs and six bb in 5 2/3 innings.
